Have you registered for the 2005 CCCSFAAA Conference yet? Don’t
miss out…it’s going to be a real bonanza! There’s
still time to get the $175 early bird conference registration fee,
but it expires soon on November 17th. After that date, there will
be an additional conference registration fee of $50. And, don’t
forget that your conference registration fee includes your complimentary
member dues for 2006!
The annual conference is the one event that provides a wide array
of financial aid related training opportunities, with beginning
to advanced level sessions. The program committee is even planning
a legislative staff panel forum to provide an opportunity to address
state issues and allow for questions and answers. This is sure
to be an interesting session!
For those of you who want to learn more about student learning
outcomes as they relate to financial aid, there is a session on
that too. Perhaps a session on CHAFEE Grants or INS issues interests
you? There will be many sessions, so many to choose from that you
will not be able to attend all of them myself, so plan to send
your staff to cover as many sessions as possible. And this year,
the session hand-outs will be posted on the website after the conference
just in case you didn’t make it to a session you needed because
you had to make a choice between which sessions to attend!
And we know, financial aid professionals don’t just work
hard, they like to eat and play hard too. The social committee
has planned a great dinner and show for Friday night just for you.
I understand that a hypnotist will provide the entertainment…any
volunteers? Dancing will follow, so bring your dancing shoes. Don’t
like to dance? Maybe you can be hypnotized to dance like John Travolta
or John Muskavitch!!!
The President’s Reception will be held Saturday evening at
5:30 pm. Want to be serenaded? Then you’ll be at the right
place because we will have Mariachis and refreshments. You won’t
want to miss this event. At the CCCSFAAA General Business Meeting
on Sunday morning, we will have two student speakers. I always
look forward to hearing what our students have to say for they
reaffirm the passion we have for the work we do.
So if you haven’t already registered for the conference, I hope I was able
to convince you to attend. For more information, visit the CCCSFAAA
I’ll see you in Sacramento!
